Book Bundle FAQs

Can I borrow more than one book bundle on a library card?

Because we have limited stock we are asking people to borrow just one bundle at a time. Juniors can borrow two bundles. You don’t have to return one bundle before you order your next one, though it’s very helpful to our stock situation if you do.

Can I order and collect book bundles for different members of my family?

Yes, as long as your family members each have their own library cards. You’ll just need to fill out an order form for each member.

Can I collect or bring back books for a family member or friend?

Yes you can.

Can I order a specific book instead of a bundle?

Yes you can. Use your library card to order a book online here. Alternatively, you can ring us during our opening hours and we’ll place the reservation for you.

How long will it take before my bundle will be ready?

Our volunteers will process requests in order of date received and will do their best to avoid a backlog. Books should be chosen within a couple of days of your order and will then be held in quarantine for three days before before you can collect them. We will call you to arrange a collection date.

Why are you quarantining books?

Research has shown that Covid-19 can only live on inanimate soft surfaces such as paper for a matter of hours, but could persist on book covers for a little longer. Our three-day quarantine period is intended to minimise the risk of transmission and help to keep customers and volunteers safe.

How will I know when my books are ready to collect?

A volunteer will ring you to let you know and arrange a time for you to come to the library to collect them.

Can I phone with an order?

Yes you can. Call 01609 534584. If you ring during our opening hours you will be able to speak to a volunteer. Outside those hours you can leave a message. Please remember to leave your name and phone number so that we can ring you back!

Do I have to be a library member to order a book bundle?

Yes you do. If you haven’t got a library card it’s no problem. You can join online here. You’ll need to visit the library at your convenience to collect your library card.

I can’t find my library card. can I still order books?

Yes you can. Please make sure that you include your postcode in your order to help us to find your account.

If I am late collecting my books will the loan period be extended?

No. The “return by” date will run from the arranged collection date, but if you overrun the loan period don’t worry as fines for overdue items are not being charged at the moment.

I’ve missed my booked collection time. What do I do?

Please try to stick to your time but if that’s not possible collect your books as soon as you can – preferably on the next library opening day.

CAN I order a book from elsewhere for collection at Easingwold?

Yes you can. Use your library card to order a book online here. Alternatively, you can ring us during our opening hours and we’ll place the reservation for you.
